Welcome to Dürt Studios. My tiles are made slowly, by hand, in small batches. Because this is a one-person studio, things work a little differently than buying from a big manufacturer. By placing an order, you agree to the following:

The Nature of Handmade Tiles

Each tile by Dürt Studios is handmade by one person, in small batches. Because of the nature of ceramics, each tile is unique—subtle differences in color, surface, shape, and size are to be expected and celebrated. These variations are part of what makes handmade tile special and are not considered flaws.

Production & Timing

Production time depends on the intricacy of the design and, of course, the scope of the order. Typically, orders under 10 square feet can be sent within six weeks. For larger orders, I will provide an estimated time frame for completion when you place your order—and try my absolute best to meet the deadline—but the estimated shipping dates are not guarantees.

Dürt Studios occasionally offers “Limited Edition” sales, where a number of pre-made tiles are available for on-demand purchase. If you would like to know when the drop sales will happen, subscribe to our newsletter or our social media accounts for announcements.

Returns & Order Changes

Since tiles are made-to-order, our cancellation and order change policy is dependent on how far along the tiles are in our production process. Please contact Dürt immediately for consultation. If you reach us before production begins, a full refund will be issued. After production has begun, a 10 to 50 percent cancellation fee will be applied depending on the level of production completed. Once the tiles have been bisque fired, all orders are final and non-refundable.

As for returns, generally we are unable to accept returns on custom orders, so please carefully review your order before purchasing. We also advise purchasing one or more sample tiles before placing a large order.

Shipping & Risk

We pack our tiles carefully, but items can be damaged or lost during shipping. If that happens, contact us right away. We’ll work with you to replace or refund what’s missing. If a shipment goes missing, Dürt Studios will file for compensation from the courier once this has been officially declared. When the compensation is processed the customer will receive a full refund.

Please inspect your tiles before installing and log any complaints within seven days of receiving your tiles. Once the tiles are installed, they’re considered accepted and become non-returnable.

If the buyer provides an incomplete or incorrect address and the package is returned to Dürt Studios, we will charge a second shipping fee to send it again.

Responsibility & Limits

Dürt Studios LLC is not responsible for costs or damages incurred during installation, removal, repair, replacement, or reinstallation of the tiles. We disclaim any liability for special, incidental, or consequential damages.

Right to Refuse Business

Although we will do everything in our power to prevent it, Dürt Studios reserves the right to cancel and fully refund any order for any reason. In addition, if unforeseen life events prevent us from fulfilling your order in a reasonable amount of time, we will notify you as soon as possible and provide a full refund.

Designs & Images

Dürt Studios’ tile designs and images are original artwork and legally protected. They may not be copied, reproduced, or used for any purposes not pre-approved by Dürt Studios.
